The Bible has passages that are poetic, allegorical, hyperbolic, and also literal. The Bible is divided into dispensations, also.

One has to keep in mind:

1. Who is speaking.
2. Who is being spoken to.
3. What dispensation it was said under.
4. Why the topic is being addressed.

etc.

The two main overarching dispensations are the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

If you have further questions, I am available to assist you.

Jehovah Witnesses are a messed up lot. I would not listen to anything they teach.

Life originates with God.

It is His to give and His to take back.

Yes, the Flood happened. It's in the fossil record, too.

The attempt at the pretense of a marriage between same-sexers is not what sends them to hell, but it's a good sign that is where they were already headed when they got that far down the road to even think two of the same sex could marry each other.

I'm always happy to leave the final resolution to God, however.

It is indeed out of context.

Any Christian knows the Old Testament was the rule of law for ancient Israel. Israel was a theocracy. There are no theocracies today, and we do not live by the ancient law, but by the New Testament.

End of that ridiculous cartoon.

Religion for the sake of religion is useless.

This world is preparation for eternity. All religions will be represented in hell except genuine Christianity, which is trust/faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Yes, false believers will be there but they don't represent genuine Christianity.

There are no false religions in the heavenly state.

Historians date the foundation of organized or present form of Jainism to sometime between the 9th and the 6th centuries BC.

Judaism dates from about 15 or 16 centuries BC.

"I was asked by another member to list off events in the Bible that never happened."

So you were there. How old are you, by the way? 4200? 4300 or so?
