With advances in medicine, technology and knowledge of the universe, will humans every achieve immortality (on earth) or a form close to it? What comes to immediate mind is a cyborg like in Terminator which can in theory be continually repaired and thus live as long as Earth or the universe exists. If such a cyborg\robot could be integrated with a human mind or made to behave just like a human mind, in a sense you could continue your future like as a robot and live forever.
