Where does The Bible stand on capital punishment? I know that the old testament was pretty violent but the new testament seems fairly calm. What does God have to say about capital punishment?

the best answer would be 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' in other words if you think you could be rehabilitated and do not want to die, then give the other person the same chance you would want.
