Does any Christian church still excommunicate people from it?

The Cathollc church excommunicates - which they believe means the person is subsequently going to hell.  They think they control God's salvation.

The Christians church do not practice excommunication and never have.  Some practice disfellowshipping, which means the person is no longer a member of that church, but those churches recognize it has no effect whatsoever on whether the person is saved or lost.

Be careful with your broad strokes.....  Some Christian churches have always, and still do, excommunicate.

Catholics are Christians. Whether you believe they are "true Christians" is a matter of your opinion and beliefs. The fact remains that they are still a denomination of Christianity

No sir. SOME Catholics are Christians. SOME Baptists are Christians. SOME Presbyterians are Christians. SOME Methodists are Christians.

Calling yourself a Christian doesn't make you one anymore than me calling myself the Wizard of Oz makes me him.

That is a bad analogy. Some of those who you may not consider a christian will believe they are as much as you do. Anyone who believes that Jesus Christ was a savior and the son of God is considered a Christian in my book. Whether they are good Christians or bad Christians is a different story.

Much like you think a Islams are taught to spread thier religion violently, you automatically group the suicide bombers in with the Muslim faith. There are good Muslims and there are bad Muslims.

I never said they aren't as good as me.  They might be better than me.  But announcing you are a Christian doesn't make you one.  A person must be born again of the Spirit of God to be a Christian.

Joining a certain church doesn't make a person a Christian either.  Just because you're a Catholic, or a Baptist, or a Presbyterian, does NOT guarantee you're a Christian.

"Make your calling and election sure", the Scripture says.

The Catholic excommunicates; -True

which they believe means the person is subsequently going to hell. -Wrong

Ex  communicate == Out of Communion

A declaration that says that the person is no longer one with the church. That person may not receive the sacraments of the church unless he/she repents and confesses his/her sins and does penance. Basically, the person who is excommunicated, has already put him/herself out of communion with the church by some prior action. eg, a doctor who performs abortions and says that he is Catholic. That person by his actions has already excommunicated himself. The church rite only affirms that person's action.

Whether they think the person did it or they think they themselves did it, they still think the person is going to hell because no person "out of communion" with the Catholic church is recognized by the Catholic church as being saved and headed to heaven.
