What would the world be like without the concept of marriage? You think we would behave more like the Native Americans where many helped raise the children and a family consisted of all relatives playing important roles?  Or would we suffer from a plague of STD's that would eventually wipe us all out?  And, before anyone posts anything about God and the sanctity of marriage and morality and all that jazz, just chill.  Its a hypothetical question, just pretend that God said, "Thou Shalt Not Marry".

Hi John,

I believe native Americans did marry.

But I like the idea of helping raise the children and a family consisting of all relatives playing important roles.  I believe that's how God intended it to be.

But to your question:  If there were no marriage, I think that people would miss the intimacy of very close relationships and there would be a greater hunger for that "something that's missing".
