What was used and considered to be substantial evidence to convict someone of being a witch?

Hi Christy,

Like in the Salem witch trials? From my reading, it was simply the conspiratorial lies of a few girls accusing innocent people.

...So what was to stop anyone from being slaughtered?

There had to of been some sort of guidelines.....
