Man gets forced out of his job because he doesn't believe in evolution. He didn't believe religion and evolution could work together.

Wondering what others think about this.

I personally don't think the two concepts play well together....

Hi Christy,

I read the article in the link. I'm not sure he was forced. He offered his resignation and it was accepted, and he said this himself, "Expressing regret for the turmoil, he added, 'I find no fault with the RTS administration; in fact, I think they did the right thing.'"

From his photograph, he was probably retirement age and decided it was time.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, an organization that stands for certain things must be allowed to run itself as it wishes or the organization is diluted and no longer represents what it was formed to represent in the first place.

If an atheist organization, for example, had to start allowing Christians to join the organization, and they did, and started taking over, then soon it would no longer be an atheist organization with its own goals. It would instead become a Christian organization and would cease to exist for whatever its original purposes were. It's the same with a religious organization. I'm not a Catholic so I don't join their churches and try to change the Catholic church. They are entitled to their belief system. I talk to them, but I don't try to join their organization.

Fair enough, he did offer his resignation....

What are your thoughts on evolution? You've stated that you believe that God designed and created everything.... Do you think evolution holds any ground?

Hi Christy,

I believe in differentiation in the species. Look at all the different dogs and cats we've got today, and even different humans. But evolution? Like monkeys progressing to humans? No, I don't believe in that. If anything, I would embrace devolution - that things progress downward rather than upward.

It's our intelligence that has enabled us to make a better food supply (for nutrition) and come up with medicines that enable a longer and healthier life today.

The fossil record doesn't seem to show any kind of evolution upward, either.

What do you think?

read the book Slaughter of the Dissidents by Bergman and you will get a better picture of the conflict.
