In this Huffington Post article of November 13th, a South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil."

While we often focus on the influence of the Christian Fundamentalists on government, this Roman Catholic priest is another example of how religion is making inroads into the choices we make for our government leaders.  Is this the direction our country should be heading?
