I have viewed several websites to help me understand Judaism, and one of the best is Judaism 101, written in plain English covering 80 web pages and 300 pages of text. It covers Jewish beliefs, people, places, things, language, scripture, holidays, practices and customs with a well organized table of contents and other links for quick reference.
